5 Days Chengdu Fantasy Tour

Today our guide will welcome you at the Chengdu Airport, and transfer you to local hotel. Then leisure time is free for you. After short rest, you could walk around your hotel to find a local night market where you can taste delicious local snack, pick up the delicate souvenir, and enjoy the music performance from local folk artist, etc. You will have a very wonderful night in Chengdu.

After breakfast we drive you to Leshan. Catch a tour boat to sightsee the spectacular Leshan Giant Buddha, which is the largest Buddha statue in the world with over 233 feet in height and 28 feet in width. Also it was included by UNESCO on the list of the World Heritage sites. Carving of the giant statue begun in the Tang Dynasty took more than 90 years.  So you will be amazed not only by its great size but also by its architectural artistry.

Afterwards move on to the Mount Emei, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is the highest of China's four holy Buddhist mountains. Visit the ancient Baoguo Temple at the foot of the mountain. You will see its most famous historical relics, the 25-ton bronze Bell, reputedly the second-largest bell in China (after Beijing's Great Bell), and enjoy the bell's deep sound.  These precious Buddhist cultural relics will take you back years long past.

Tonight you will stay in the hotel located at the foot of the mountain.

On this day, we will continue our tour of Mount Emei. In the moring take the sightseeing car up the mountain. First you will visit the ancient Qingyinge (also name as Woyun Temple) where you can learn some stories about the Buddist and enjoy its unique scenery.

Followed by a trip to the famous Wannian Temple to appreciate its three treasure, Beamless Hall, bronze statue of Bodhisattva Puxian and the Buddha's tooth. Then along the mountain road come to the Leidongping. If it is in the Spring or Summer, you can appreciate the beautiful Rhododendron flowers all over around the temple.

At last we reach the Golden Summit, which is well known for its spectacular views. It is so called because in the sunshine which appears golden and looks resplendent and magnificent. If climate allows, you can experience the four wonders of Mount Emei: Buddha's Halo (rainbow-like rings that surround and move with your shadow), the Sea of Clouds, the Divine Lights and the Golden Summit Sunrise. From here, you can also take a monorail along the ridge to Ten Thousand Buddha Summit, the true peak of the mountain.

Tonight you will stay at the hotel in the Golden Summit, so, if climate allows, you can appreciate the spectacular sunset and sunrise.

After breakfast transfer back to Chengdu. Visit the famous attractions in Chengdu - Panda Breeding and Research Center, which is home to giant pandas, red (or lesser) pandas, and other endangered species. You will visit the nursery to see the highly successful breeding program, among the bamboo groves and shady walkways, and to view the pandas at rest or play. There is a panda museum where you can learn some information about giant pandas. Here we specially prepare a programme of taking photos with a panda for your option. You can hold a lovely panda to take photos. How excited it is! (The admission for the programme is excluded.)

After lunch, proceed to Chengdu's historical site, Du Fu's Thatched Roof Cottage, which is regarded as a sacred site of Chinese literature. It is the former residence of the celebrated Tang dynasty poet Du Fu who wrote some of his masterpieces there. In this site, you can enjoy fine Chinese calligraphy and know more about Chinese literature.

Then you will feel relax to explore Jinli Old Street for local tea house, night life, art crafts and snacks. In the traditional atmosphere, you will enjoy the delicious Sichuan food and snacks and learn the local remarkable folk culture.

After visit, drive back to hotel in Chengdu.
