1 Arrive in Guiyang (D) |
You will be met and welcomed by the guide in Guiyang airport. Guizhou is nicknamed "The Kingdom of Mountains", as 87% of its land is comprised of mountains and plateaus. Visit the Hequn evening market after dinner, which will leave you an impression of Guizhou's most
popular and spicy food. |

2 Guiyang - Kaili (220km, 2.5hr) (B,L,D) |
This morning you will taste the life of local people by doing morning exercises in the People's Square. You may learn Taiqi, join in Waist-drum Dancing, or play peg-top with your Chinese friends, etc. After lunch, drive 2.5 hour along the scenic mountain roads to Kaili. Pay a visit to the Kaili Museum, which will offer you an overall view of the ethnic costumes in Guizhou. |

3 Kaili - Chong'anjiang (41km, 1hr) - Kaili (B,L,D) |
Today we will drive for 3 hours to Chong'anjiang through the beautiful countryside with its terraced hillsides and quaint towns. Upon arrival, attend the Miao's Lusheng Festival. You can see the minority girls' brilliant ethnic costumes and silver ornaments, and participate in the celebration ceremonies, composed of Lusheng dancing, horse racing, rooster fights and buffalo fights. This is also a good opportunity for tourist to learn and join in the celebration dancing. |

The most important musical instrument of Miao People. This is the Chinese name for the Miao minority's bamboo pipe and is translated as "reed instrument". These pipes are most commonly played at festivals related to courtship and are not generally used at religious gatherings. |

4 Kaili - Huangping (45km, 1hr) - Kaili (B,L,D) |
Today, we will drive 2 hours to Gulong village in Huangping County, where another Lusheng Festival celebration is being held. In Gulong, the festival activities are similar to those in Chong'anjiang, except that over 1,000 bamboo pipes are played here, a majestic scene never to be seen anywhere else in the world. |

5 Kaili - Rongjiang (204km, 5.5hr) (B,L,D) |
We will drive from Kaili to Rongjiang via Sandu to visit the beautiful Chejiang Dong village and the cluster of old Banian tree on the way. The Dong can be recognized by their turbans (for men), and pleated skirts (for women). They are also known for their architecture, particularly their drum towers, and Fengyu bridges (Wind and Rain bridges), which are pavilions for sheltering people during bad weather. Stay in Rongjiang guesthouse (in simple condition). |

6 Rongjiang - Congjiang (76km, 2hr) -- Zhaoxing (90km, 3hr) (B,L,D) |
Visit Biasha, a small Miao village with very little signs of modern influence. Then visit Yintan, a Dong village built on the top of the mountain with beautiful landscape. Transfer to Zhaoxing around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. |

7 Congjiang

Zhaoxing is one of the largest Dong villages in the region, with more than 700 households and a population of 4000. Explore the village for a whole day. After dinner, we will be entertained by the Dong people's welcome ceremony (singing and dancing included) right beneath the Dong's Drum Tower. Stay in Zhaoxing (wooden houses here are not in good condition). |

8 Zhaoxing - Sanjiang (110km, 5hr) (B,L,D) |
From Zhaoxing we will continue our journey south into Guangxi Province. Sanjiang in Guangxi province is a town inhabited by the South Dong, one of the two subgroups of the Dong ethnic minority. A short drive away from Sanjiang will take us to Chengyang, a quaint little village with one of the largest Fengyu bridges (Wind and Rain bridge) in the region. Here we will explore the villages on foot, visiting the lively markets and hillside farms. |
Day 9 Sanjiang - Longsheng(80km, 2.5hr) - Guilin (160km, 2hr) (B,L) |
Today we will depart Sanjiang in the morning to visit Longsheng, where the mountains are covered with terraced rice fields, some of which reach up to 1,000 m (3,300 ft) peaks. We will arrive in Guilin in the afternoon. |
Day 10 Depart Guilin (B) |
You will be free this morning to explore the beautiful city of Guilin. Then transfer to the airport to catch the flight for your next destination. (If you have not visited Guilin before, you may choose to spend 2 or 3 more days to tour Guilin, the most picturesque city in China.) |
