4 Days Chengdu Fantastic Culture Tour

In the morning our guide will welcome you at the Chengdu Airport, and transfer you to local hotel. Then leisure time is free for you. We recommend you to walk around the hotel to experience local life. Or you can go to the distinctive Jinli Old Street to experience local people's night life. You can enjoy a cup of tea in a quaint tea house, try to play the Mahjong with local people, taste delicious Sichuan snack, or buy some delicate souvenir for your friends. You will have a wonderful night.

On this day, you will visit attractions in the city center. The first stop is Chengdu's historical site, Du Fu's Thatched Roof Cottage, which is regarded as a sacred site of Chinese literature. It is the former residence of the celebrated Tang dynasty poet Du Fu who wrote some of his masterpieces there. In this site, you can enjoy fine Chinese calligraphy and know more about Chinese literature.

Then you will have a visit of the Wenshu Temple where you can spend some time sitting in its tea house enjoying a cup of traditional Chinese tea and absorb the special atmosphere of Chengdu.

In the afternoon, relax time for you in the Kuan Zhai Lane. Chengdu, as you know, is famous for its slow and leisure lifestyle. You can experience local life by killing time in open-air teahouse and tasting Sichuan dishes and snacks.  On the other hand, you can also discover many well-preserved traditional buildings on the Kuan Zhai Lane.

On this day you will experience the highlight of this tour - two sites of world cultural heritage. In the morning, we will drive to the world-famous Dujiangyan Irrigation System, UNESCO world cultural heritage. It is the oldest and only surviving no-dam irrigation system in the world. This system brings the vast Chengdu Plain under irrigation and has protected it against droughts and floods for over 2,300 years. Even in the huge 2008 Sichuan earthquake, it was not disrupted. In this region you will appreciate the beautiful landscape, find cultural relics and explore historical sites, including the Fulong Temple, Erwang Temple, and the trail bridge. Visitors to the site will gain an appreciation of the ingenuity and history of people of the Qin Dynasty over 2000 years ago.

In the afternoon, you will have a visit of Mt.Qingcheng, UNESCO world cultural heritage. It is the headstream of Chinese Taoism, and is dubbed "the most peaceful and secluded mountain under heaven" . The Mt. Qingcheng can be divided into two parts - the anterior Mt. Qingcheng and the posterior Mt. Qingcheng. We will visit the main part - the anterior Mt. Qingcheng by cable way. Except the alluring natural beauty, you can also discover cultural relics and historic sites. Among them, the Jianfu Palace ( originally constructed in the Tang Dynasty, 618-907 ), the Shangqing Palace ( originally built in the Jin Dynasty), and the Tianshi Cave are some of the most famous destinations which you are bound to be interested in.

After visit, drive back to hotel in Chengdu.
