Day 1 Arrival in Beijing

Today's Activities

Welcome to Beijing! We will greet you at the airport and escort you to the hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax and recover from jetlag.

Hanging out around Wangfujing Snack Street at night is a good option if you like. Tasting different local snacks and having a glimpse of Beijingnese nightlife. You can take some Sugarcoated haws in person, not just seeing from Chinese TV series.

Day 2 Beijing (Breakfast, Lunch)

Today's Activities

After breakfast, you will start the journey with visiting the largest city plaza in the world - Tiananmen Square, always filled with sightseers and kite-flyers.

Walking through the square, you will come to the magnificent Forbidden City, the imperial palace of the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It's the largest palace complex in the world, containing immense courtyards, terraces, and magnificent buildings with golden roofs, red columns and green, red and yellow facings.

You will go on your sightseeing with the splendid Summer Palace, the existing largest imperial garden in China, which is famed for the elaborate design of its long corridor, palace hall, temple and arch bridge. You can explore the lake on boat and appreciate the royal park.

Good point for self-funded activity: The well-known Beijing Roast Duck for dinner.

Day 3 Beijing (Breakfast, Lunch)

Today's Activities

Today's tour will begin with the Mutianyu Great Wall, which is not as crowded as the nearby Badaling Great Wall or Juyongguan Great Wall. Additionally, the foliage is much richer and the vegetation cover reaches to above 90%. The whole part of the Mutianyu Great Wall built on mountains, rising up and down is just like a huge flying dragon. You can take the first-rate cable car to enjoy the superb views of the Great Wall.

In the afternoon, you will be on a visit to Dingling Tomb, one of the 13 Ming Tombs. And it is the only tomb opened to the public, including the underground palace.

Good point for self-funded activity: Appreciating the Chinese Kung Fu Show or Peking Opera in the evening, presenting you a grand visual feast.

Day 4 Beijing - Shanghai(Breakfast, Lunch) by High-Speed Train

Today's Activities

On this day you will visit the Temple of Heaven after breakfast, originally used by Chinese Ming and Qing emperors to worship heaven and pray for good harvest. Now it is the most popular destination for locals and visitors, always full of couples dancing, individuals playing different games, and groups practicing Tai Chi. If you are lucky enough, you will encounter the worship performance at the Temple of Heaven.

Then you will drop by the Xiushui Street, also called "Silk Street", which is a shopping center in Beijing. Over 1,700 retail vendors scatter this street, with various products. The most attractive goods are those in Chinese style, such as traditional crafts. Here is the bargain hunter's paradise, where you can purchase the top-quality goods with the lowest price.

After the visit, you will be transferred to take the high-speed train to the metropolis Shanghai. Our local guide in Shanghai will pick you up at the station and accompany you to the hotel.

Good point for self-funded activity: You can head to Xiantiandi in the evening. Nightlife flourishes there, with a very European atmosphere with outdoor cafes and bars and music playing.

Day 5 Shanghai (Breakfast, Lunch)

Today's Activities

Today you will first trek through the Yuyuan Garden. It is an eminent classical Chinese garden and famed as "an architectural miracle in South China". Then you will proceed to the enclosed City God Temple. There are lots of specialty shops, restaurants, pasty stores and teahouse. You can taste some featured dim sum, tasty steamed bread and the delicious eight treasures.

After the lunch, you will continue to tour the iconic Bund, the superior place to appreciate the magnificent buildings standing in various styles, Gothic, Baroque, Rome, and the combination of Eastern and Western style. And then roam the flourishing Nanjing Road which is known as China's No. 1 Shopping Street. Following, you will delight in the panoramic view of Shanghai from the World Financial Center.

Good point for self-funded activity: Enjoying the Acrobatics Show in the evening. You will marvel at varieties of exciting programs with countless near-impossible feats of flexibility, strength, endurance, and sheer willpower performed on the stage.

Today's excursion starts with the hidden gem – Shikumen Museum, a traditional urban alley-community in Shanghai, unveiling the unique Shikumen architectural features of Shanghai. You can have a glance at the old-fashioned lifestyle of Shanghai people.
