Day 1 Arrive in Zhangmu (2300m) by land from Kathmandu (capital of Nepal): Pick-up and Acclimatization
Today's Activities Tibet shares one border crossing with Nepal. You can choose to walk through the Sino-Nepal Friendship Bridge from Kathmandu to enter Zhangmu in Tibet. Our tour guide will await your arrival in Zhangmu and escort you to the hotel for a good rest as it is necessary to acclimate yourself to the high-altitude environment. Better to take anti-AMS medicines a week ahead and carry a first-aid kit about to ensure a worry-free Tibetan expedition.

Travel Tips

1. To comfort your tour, we provide service of applying for Tibet Entry Permit. You should contact with us in advance of the trip to make the permit. On your arrival day, our guide will take it along to guarantee your entrance.
2. If you stay in Nepal and need a pickup, a local driver, generally excluding the guide, will be arranged to transfer you to Kathmandu.

Day 2 Zhangmu - Milarepa’s Cave - Dingri (Breakfast, Lunch)
Today's Activities After breakfast, set out for Tingri about five-hour drive time. En route, hit Nulam town for the sight of the impressive Milarepa’s Cave, with its uniquely miraculous natural landscape inside and the fame of holy practical site for Saint Milarepa. Walk through the path adorned with pilgrims's offering stones, sweet-smelling herbs and wild flowers into the cave, then catch a glimpse to the statue of Milarepa, the second great patriarch of Tibetan Buddhism, you can learn about what contribution this saint made to Tibetan religion and culture. Upon arrival, check in the hotel and enjoy your free time during the rest of the day.

Day 3 Dingri - Mt.Everest Base Camp (EBC) - Dingri (Breakfast, Lunch) Transfer by vehicle

Today's Activities

You will get really excited by a challenging expedition to awe-inspiring Mt. Everest. Prior to that, Rongphu Monastery, the highest monastery perched at an elevation of 5150 meters, will impress you with dramatic views on the north face of Mt. Everest. It is considered to be "a Great Place to be a Recluse".
Continue on to Mt. Everest Base Camp housing the world’s highest post office. While standing atop it, you have thrown yourself into an unrivalled world beyond words. The highest mountain looks so close in the background of immense sky that you may feel little and be stunned by the greatness of nature!
Later back to hotel in Dingri for rest to prepare for next discovery.

Travel Tips

1. The walk from Rongphu Monastery to EBC takes about two hours, or 15 minutes in a Land Cruiser. The route is obvious, past a glacial moraine and across a sandy plain. And along the road, you can see the China Post kiosk here is the world's highest post box.
2. After staying for several days in Tibet, most of travellers are becoming adaptable to the high altitute, while if you feel any uncomfortable, just tell our guide instantly, and he would help you to overcome any difficulty. Remember that slow pace and stable mood are crucial during the tour.

Day 4 Dingri - Shigatse: Tashilhunpo Monastery - Free Bazaar (Breakfast, Lunch) Transfer by vehicle
Today's Activities Enjoy a five-hour morning drive through the ecological environment to Shigatse, staying in close with the primitive land. After a delicious lunch, visit the local largest temple of Gelug Buddhism - Tashilhunpo Monastery, with the name meaning "all fortune and happiness gathered here", which has been the traditional seat of successive Panchen Lamas. Pilgrims circumambulate the monastery on the Lingkor (sacred path) outside the walls.
Then wander around Free Bazaar where you can learn about local culture, customs and life condition of Tibetan people. Check in the hotel at the end.

Day 5 Shigatse - Gyantze: Palgor Chorten, Karoula Glacier, Yamdrok Yumtso Lake - Lhasa (Breakfast, Lunch) Transfer by vehicle
Today's Activities Today begins with a two-hour drive to Gyantze to visit the spectacular Palgor Chorten in typical Tibetan architectural style, with temples in the stupa, stupas in the temple harmoniously, housing many well-known brilliant frescos.
From afar appreciate the splendid view of Karoula Glacier, one of the famous ancient glaciers, expanding from mountain roof to the spot just serveral hundred metres away from highway, like a glittering and translucent vast thangka unfolded in front of you.
Turn your attention to green-jade-like Yamdrok Yumtso Lake, one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet, praised as the most beautiful water worldwide. It boosts the beautiful scenerise of mountain and lake, abundant flora and fauna, as well as touching myterious holy legend. Later head to Lhasa for about 1.5 hours and check in there.

Today's Activities After breakfast, take in the cultural atmosphere of the Drepung Monastery, one of Tibet's 'Three Great Monasteries' and the largest one, famous for its high standards in academic study. Then immerse yourself into the renowned debating activities held in Sera Monastery around 3-4pm regularly every working day. You will get a real sense of the significance of Buddhism in Tibet.
