Hong Kong History

Life forms can be traced back to 6,000 years ago in Hong Kong and local ancients life greatly depended on the sea, so Hong Kong gradually became a small fishing village. Later in 1842, the Qing Dynasty lost the First Opium War and was forced to cede Hong Kong to the United Kingdom.

After about 100 years, Hong Kong returned to Chinese sovereignty on July 1, 1997, which marked the end of Hong Kong Colonial History. Since then, Hong Kong has been governed under the principle of One Country, Two Systems in which Hong Kong has a high degree of autonomy, largely self-governing, and maintains a highly capitalist economy.

Now Hong Kong is one of the worlds most secure, wealthy and prosperous cities. It is an important hub of business, culture, shopping, food and entertainment. Hong Kong perfectly combines Chinese intelligence with advanced Western systems and develops to an extremely bright future.
