10 Days Guizhou Miao Dong Village Tour with Guilin Extension

The tour starts from pickup at Guiyang Longdongbao Airport by our tourist guide at due time. Then you will be sent to selected hotel in Guiyang downtown. Free time is arranged for you to walk around hotel to get the first impression of Guiyang city. Dinner is up to you, we highly recommend you to visit a wonderful night market, buy some souvenir or try cheap but delicious street food.

After breakfast in the hotel, we will drive about 2 hours to reach Anshun city, during this journey, you can stop by Yunfeng Tunpu Scenic Area to visit the local Old Han (Laohan) Minority. The ancestors of these villagers migrated from Jiangxi Province to Guizhou Province in the Ming Dynasty. Yunfeng Tunpu is also known as Yunfeng Bazhai Scenic Area, including eight tunpu villages. With a visit to Tunpu Cultural Museum and Di Opera Performance, you will get close to know Tunpu culture.
In the afternoon, we will visit world-famous Huangguoshu waterfalls. Like a milky way in miniature, it is the largest waterfall in Asia. So impressive it is that makes you worthy of visiting more than 2 hours. Still we will drive back to Guiyang hotel to close this day.

Today we will drive southeast to Kaili, the capital city of Southeast of Guizhou province, about 2 hours. Firstly, the tourist guide will help you to do check-in at Kaili hotel for leaving the heavy luggages. Then we can continue our trip to Chong'anjiang to see Wanba Gejia Village (1.5 hours). As a branch of Miao minority, Gejia people have distinctive costumes and dress-up. Just breath fresh air and appreciate the beautiful sceneries of the rural villages. Later we will shift to Jidao Miao Village to see those Miao women dressed in a styled long skirts. In the village, we get a chance to get close to a local Miao family, chatting with them. As last, we have to back to Kaili for having a good night.

Drive to another way to explore about 2-hour far Shidong Piantou Miao Village, the village accepts hundreds of visitors to visit famous Sisters' Meal Festival (always on April) every year. In the normal period, the village seems quiet but still remains lots of cultural things to discover. As we all know, Miao people is reputed for their silverwares. And we can visit how Miao people product it at a local silver workshop by lucky chance. The next spot is Xijiang Miao Village (2 hours' drive), as the biggest Miao Village in China, it has more to refresh our eyes. And we will spend a unique night at village's best hotel.

In the morning, we will hit the Xijiang Miao Folk Museum after breakfast. You will get a deeper understanding of Miao minority and its culture. The next destination is Rongjiang county. But before we get there, we will visit Paika Miao Village to see Lusheng making presentation, and it becomes a popular attraction to outsiders. Then we continue to reach Datang Xinqiao Miao Village, by fortune, we can see a row of girls dressed in mini-shirts dancing together to welcome outsiders. Also we could learn different Miao customs in this village, and receive warm treatment from the hospitable Miao hosts. Water granary collection will be our last destination of this day. Smart Miao villagers built lots of wooden barns over manmade ponds to store grains and prevent foods from fire damage. Then, we will take a side-trip to Shiqiao Miao Village to see China mysterious Traditional Paper-making process, and pass by beautiful Verdant Rice Terraces of Gaoyao, finally stay at the hotel of Rongjiang county.

After breakfast, we will head for the direction of Zhaoxing. Before we arrive at Zhaoxing, we will stop by Biasha Miao Village to explore the legend of the Last Gunmen's Tribe of China. It needs 2.5 hours' drive. In village, almost all the adult male villagers have a blunderbuss for hunting. And the male villagers' distinctive hair dresses are known as the existing most ancient style in China. After that, we go on our drive to Zhaoxing Dong Village and visit the largest Dong People's Village in Qiandongnan area. (2 hours). Ok, just have a good dinner nearby and good night in village's best hotel.

In the morning we will walk around Zhaoxing Dong Village and have a family visit in a local house. After having lunch, the afternooon excursion will take you to Tang'an Dong People's Village (15 minutes). The village owns a well-known minority ecological Museum, requiring us more than 30 minites to understand simple and green life of Dong villagers. Afterwards, you will challenge yourself to hike about 3 hours from Tang'an to see Shage Dong Village and then back to Zhaoxing Dong Village.

After breakfast, you can have fun in Local minority market. With a full impression of Dong people's real life, you will be attractive by their simple and happy lifestyle. Then, we will continue our driving to Sanjiang for having a sound lunch there (3 hours). Then with half an hour's drive, we can reach Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge to explore the nearby Dong People's villages. The Wind and Rain Bridge is a wonder of Dong minority. Rather than a bridge, it is a combination of bridge, corridor and pavilion where passers-by could shelter themselves from wind and rain. At night, you will stay the best hotel of Chengyang.

In the morning, we will drive about 2 hours from Sanjiang to Longsheng County. The must of Longsheng is the spectacular Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces (Longji Rice Terraces), where you will see an amazing picture of the terraces stretching layer upon layer, coiling around from the base of the mountain to its summit. In this case, the smaller mountains here look like conchs while the bigger ones resemble towers. Later we will have lunch in a restaurant located in mountain top. In the afternoon, we continue our journey to Guilin downtown, and have good rest in your hotel. When sun goes down, you could reach Li River Scenic Spot to see breath-taking sceneries of renowned Guilin rivers and mountains.
