Chengdu Downtown - Giant Panda Base - Leshan Buddha - Back to Chengdu Downtown

Today's Activities

Hotel Pick-up: Start the tour with pick up from your hotel located within the 2nd ring of downtown Chengdu(Or meet your guide at the meeting point).

Giant Panda Base Visit: Enjoy a comfortable transfer to the Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding which is just a 1-hour drive away at the edge of the city. Spend approximately 2 to 2.5 hours exploring the breeding center. See over 170 pandas from tiny pink newborns to giants which reach up to 1.5 meters tall. Admire the adorable panda babies running around their play enclosures, laying in the pool, or climbing the trees.

Leshan Buddha Visit: Head over to the historic Leshan Buddha located is 2.5 hours away along the expressway. Stop for a quick lunch (on your own expense), then discover the world's largest sitting Buddha statue which is about 71 meters high crafted out of a cliff face. If the situation allows, the guide will take you for a closer look at the Buddha's head and feet. Find out more about Buddhism and local beliefs in the Lingyun Temple next to the Giant Buddha.

Back to Chengdu: After 2 hours at Leshan, head back to Chengdu. Depending on traffic, end the tour near Tianfu Square. (Please be noted: hotel drop-off service is not included in the tour)

Packup tips:

You will find that it is a little bit late when you have lunch in Leshan at around 1:00 pm, so in case of hunger, you are suggested to bring snacks and soft drinks, such as chocolate, cookies and milk.

River cruising to visit Leshan Giant Buddha:

If you want to cruise along the river to get the whole view of Leshan Giant Buddha rather than entering the mountain, please tell us in advance, and we will refund you CNY20/USD3 for not entering the scenic spot.
