Today's Activities | Welcome to Shanghai! Upon arrival, you will receive warm welcome from our local tour guide at the airport, and then be escorted to your hotel for checking in. Today is free for your own activities, whether to have a good rest at the hotel, or take a stroll around for a first peek into the city. |
Today's Activities | Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel, and tour guide will pick up all guests from downtown hotels and then lead you to explore the city. First comes the City God Temple, the most significant Taoist temple in Shanghai with over 600 years' history. It's a local worshiping place with snacks area around. Then move to Yuyuan Garden to appreciate its architectural elegance and beauty. Followed up is the Bund, where a great collision of the Chinese and Western building styles is presented. Also visit the Old French Concession for a brief dive into the past. After lunch, you will explore the modern Shanghai with visits to Pudong New Financial Area and Shanghai 2010 Expo Park. Then a tour to the Pearl City will satisfy your shopping desire. You will also experience the traditional local life at the Old Residential Longtang. At the end of the tour, the guide will escort you back to your hotel. |

Today's Activities | After having your breakfast at the hotel, you will join the group and start an extension tour to the nearby Suzhou, which is about 2 hours' drive from Shanghai downtown. Hotel pick-up service is applied to Shanghai downtown hotels. Suzhou is most famous for its traditional gardens and silk embroidery. Let's start with the Lingering Garden, which offers you fascinating scenes from every single angle of the garden. Then comes the Ancient Suzhou Silk Museum, where you will learn about the silk-making process, related history and representative art works. After lunch, you will head for Zhouzhuang Water Town. This ancient small town is noted for its laid-back lifestyle and profound cultural background. You will feast your eyes with the well-preserved old residential houses, elegant watery views while experiencing local traditions and customs. |
