Today's Activities After airport/ railway station pick-up, hotel transfer and some rest at the hotel, you’ll have your energy come back before the night falls. Day 2 Shanghai (Breakfast, Lunch)
Today's Activities Today is quite content-rich! Let’s set out at 9:00 A.M. after your breakfast. We first reach the over 400-year-old Yuyuan Garden, the representative traditional Chinese garden in Shanghai. After having a good view of the elaborate garden layout and graceful pavilions, villa, lotus lake and bridges (about 1.5 hours), you’ll give a big wow of the idyllic life philosophy of ancient Chinese.

The following Yuyuan Market and Temple of City God are full of Chinese worldly liveliness. Around the Market you’ll find as many traditional Chinese handicrafts and art works as possible while at the 600-year-old Temple of City God you’ll see scores of sculptures that represent this or that powerful Taoist immortal in Chinese view. Besides, these two places boasts delicious snacks. You may as well have a taste.

In the afternoon you would look up at the parade of European toned old towers that lights up The Bund, listening to the stately bell ring from the belltower of Shanghai Customs and the legend of Paris of the East from 1920s to1940s(about 1 hour).

Oriental Pearl Tower, the last stop today, brings your affection for Shanghai to the summit. You’ll begin from Shanghai Municipal History Museum, which is situated at the bottom of the tower, to learn more about old Shanghai life during 1920s to 1940s. Later you'll enjoy the best panoramic view of new Shanghai at the top of Oriental Pearl Tower(1,535 feet high).

At night, we recommend Shanghai Acrobatic show as your add-on activity. As one of the oldest performing arts in China, the acrobatics displayed on stage include a number of feats focusing on flexibility, strength, endurance and sheer will-power. Cheer up your bravos!

We would like to thank Nancy from 'China Tour Guide' for the professional job that she has done in organising our 12 day China Discovery tour of China and Hong Kong.

We travelled to many overseas destinations over the years and, with some apprehension, we contacted Nancy from 'China Tour Guide'. This was the first time we had ever booked a holiday online.

We were very impressed by the informative website and attracted to the 'China Discovery tour' because it included most of the 'must see' attractions in China. The quoted price was also very competitive. At the time I was an Australian Expat working in India. Nancy's help was invaluable in helping us obtain Visas for China from a 3rd country. She provided us with a Company Invitation letter and detailed tour itinerary officially stamped.

Paying for the tour was also easily and safely accomplished through Paypal.

Our final concerns disappeared when we were met by our tour guide at Beijing Airport who quickly helped us to the waiting vehicle. We chose the Private Deluxe tour which included 5 star hotels and personal vehicle, driver and guide in each city. The service we received in each city was excellent and the guides were very knowledgeable (one had a college degree in History). When transferred to the airport for the flight to our next destination our guides assisted with checking in and returned with our boarding passes, couldn't have been easier.

Our hotels were perfectly located in the centre of where we needed to be: Beijing was just down the road from Tiananmen Square; Shanghai, we stepped out of the hotel directly onto Nanjing Road, the main shopping area. The others were equally as conveniently located.

I would highly recommend Nancy and the China Tour Guide company to anyone considering a trip to China, they are the BEST.
