Hong Kong

Hong Kong may well be considered the lap of luxury for the gourmet and the gourmand alike. Look no further than Causeway Bay, Lan Kwai Fong, Soho and Stanley, and wander the winding streets of Kowloon for a taste of traditional Chinese and local Cantonese cuisine. Sea food is great in Hong Kong and you should not miss it. Tanks of live seafood like fish, lobster, prawns, crab, geoduck, clams, scallops, oysters vie for attention.

Chongqing

Chongqing food is largely a hybrid of Sichuan cuisine and local specialty dishes. Compared with Chengdu's Sichuan Cuisine, Chongqing's has a stronger taste, spicier and more innovative. Famous Chongqing Cuisine include Chongqing Hotpot, Qianzhang (Beam Cream Skim), Jiangtuan Fish, Sliced Meat with Cripsy Rice, etc.
-- Chongqing Hotpot: Most famous Sichuan traditional dish. Characterized by heavy flavors, diverse ingredients, and steaming aromas, hotpot is to the local culture what tea is to Chinese culture. If spicy food doesn't agree with you, you can also take a Yuanyang Hotpot, which offer both hot and light tastes in different containers at a time.
-- Sliced Meat with Crispy Rice: Slice meat with crispy rise is another local favorite. The meat is soft and tender while the rice is crispy, forming a sharp but great contrast.

Dear Sara,

We went to China for 10 days! What a treat to make the Chinese New Year Spring Festival our debut! We saw all the sights on our personal itinerary, and were delighted. There wasn't one hitch or snag the whole time! The people, music, food, and scenery were marvelous! We flew from Shanghai - Yi Chang to catch the Century Cruises 4 day Yangtze River cruise to Chongqing..,then flew to Guilin and back to Shanghai. It was much cleaner than we expected. We envied their roadways for the perfect condition and surprising expense in the landscaping, even the streetlights and overpasses had form and function.

The people are much more free, they come and go, there wasn't even a customs inspection, in or out. They say they are a socialist country led by the Communist Party. They consider North Korea a Communist country.
