Day 1   Arrive in Beijing
Airport pick-up and hotel transfer. Free time to explore this legendary capital city of China.

Day 2   Beijing   (B,L)
Visit the world famous Forbidden City, Tian'anmen Square. Have a Hutong Tour to see the old houses and neighbourhood of local Beijingers.

The Forbidden City:

One of the world's most beautiful architectural complexes, served as China's imperial palace for almost five centuries; you will be overwhelmed by its massive scale and majestic design.
The Tian'anmen Square: As a symbol of the nation, this world's largest city square is home to various historical sites and known for the daily ritualistic flag raising ceremony.
Hutong Tours:

Leaving the bustling city streets, stepping into the maze-like hutongs and deep courtyards, you'll get a true taste of Beijinger's life and seem to travel back in time.


Day 3   Beijing  (B,L)
Great Wall at Badaling, Ming Tombs. See the famous Olympic stadiums of Bird's Nest and Water Cube from the outside.
Badaling Great Wall: The best-preserved and most imposing section of the Great wall; approximately 3,741m long and of great strategic importance in ancient times.
Ming Tombs: The mausoleum of Emperor Zhu Di, the chief and the most magnificent one of the 13 Ming tombs, which will give you a glimpse into the power and grandeur of China's Ming Dynasty's Emperors.
Olympic Stadium (Bird's Nest): The nest-shaped elliptic steel structure is hailed as "an icon of the Beijing 2008 Olympics" and has become a recognized landmark worldwide.
Water Cube: A fantastically designed cube with glowing "bubbles" emanating from it, the center holds what is believed to be the fastest pool in the world, thanks to state-of-the-art technology and design.

Day 4   Beijing to Datong transfer by train    (B,L)
Visit Summer Palace. Take train to Datong. Train Station pick-up and hotel transfer. Stay overnight at Datong.
Summer Palace: Used to be the imperial summer resort; ranked among the most noted and classical gardens of the world, it never fails to leave you a lasting impression.

Day 5   Datong   (B,L)

Visit Hanging Temple, Yungang Grottoes, the main tourist attractions and historical sites in the Datong area.

Hanging Temple:

Perched precariously on a near-vertical cliff of Hengshan Mountain, this architectural wonder will arouse your sense of adventure and curiosity and leaves you dumbfounded.

Yungang Grottoes::

With a series of 53 caves and over 51,000 majestic sculptures, it's a treasure trove of grotto art that highlights both Chinese ancient Buddhist art as well as the superb skills of the craftsmen.


Day 6   Datong to Pingyao transfer by train    (B,L)

Take a train to Pingyao. Free time to explore Pingyao's local culture.

Pingyao Ancient City:

Presenting a lively picture of the typical Han person's life hundreds of years ago, the city of Ping Yao is a bona fide time machine that you can walk through and enjoy at your leisure.


Day 7   Pingyao   (B,L)

Visit Shuanglin Temple to see hundreds of painted Buddhist sculptures and experience the local profound Buddhist culture. Then Wang Family Mansion to see the grand residence of local rich people.

Shuanglin Temple:

This Buddhist temple is like an ancient art gallery and its exquisitely painted clay sculptures from several Dynasties in ancient China are highly reputed.

Wang Family Mansion:

Previously serving as the residence of the local wealthiest family, this massive, castle-like mansion offers a window into the day-to-day life of upper class Chinese who lived centuries ago.


Day 8   Pingyao to Xi'an transfer by train   (B,L)

Walking tour in Piaoyao old town: visit Rishengchang Exchange Shop, Ming & Qing Street, City Wall, Ancient Government Office, Ancient Security Guard Company. Take a train to Xi'an.

Rishengchang Exchange Shop:

As a kind of bank of ancient Pingyao, was established in 1823 of Qing Dynasty to become the first private financial organization of China majoring in deposit schemes, loans and remittance services.

Ming & Qing Street:

Reputed as the ancient Wall Street of China, it was the most prosperous part of the city and the financial center of China.

City Wall:

The well-preserved city wall of Pingyao stretches for about six kilometers and was the soul of the ancient city defense.

Ancient Government Office:

The well-preserved building complex was functioned, once upon a time, as a government office and a court for civil disputes. It contains of an executive office, a tax office, a trial hall, and even a prison, to just name a few.

Ancient Security Guard Company:

The preserved company building is now a museum which offers an eye-opening insight into the significant role played by armed escorts in promoting commerce. The economic boom under the Ming and Qing dynasties meant a lot of cash moving from one area to another.

 

Day 9   Xi'an   (B,L)

Visit Shaanxi History Museum to have a hint about Xi'an's profound history and culture. Go to Great Mosque and Muslim Quarter to see the muslims' neighbourhood and daily life.

Shaanxi History Museum: More than 3000 well-chosen cultural and historic relics have display here, which can fully reflect splendid civilization of Shaanxi province.
Great Mosque: With more than 1200 years' history, the mosque is one of the four grand Islamic mosques in China. It is of local features and built in Chinese architectural style.
Muslim Quarter: Muslins make up an important part of the population of Xian city. The Muslim Community has always been a close community filled with exotic shops and savory restaurants. Their markets are well worth visiting.

Day 10   Xi'an   (B,L)

Visit the magnificent Terracotta Warriors and then the Small Wild Goose Pagoda.

Terracotta Warriors: In Xi'an, you can see the world-famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses with your own eyes and listen to stories and get a little insight of this incredible wonder.
Small Wild Goose Pagoda: Along with the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, it is an important landmark built in Tang Dynasty, 1300 years from now. The pagoda is in incrdibly good conditions and enjoys a beautiful environment at the top of a hill.

Day 11   Depart Xi'an (B)

Free time till transfer to airport for your flight to next destination.
